How Does It Work?
Gift Selection and Checkout as a Gift
Consumer (initiator) visits partnering merchant websites and chooses the goods or services they want to purchase as a gift. At the merchant's checkout page, the user selects the Checkout as a Gift option provided by Pay By Card to initiate the gift purchase process with a group collection link.
Inviting Friends and Monitoring the Gift Collection
After selecting the gift option, the consumer is redirected to the Pay By Card platform. On the platform, the consumer views the selected gift's details, including the merchant's requested amount and the order ID. The consumer can then use the link builder provided by Pay By Card to invite friends to contribute to the gift fund or create their own gift collection. The consumer can monitor the progress of the gift collection in real-time, receiving notifications as contributions are made by friends and family.
Completing the Gift Purchase with Cashback
Once the required amount is collected, Pay By Card will notify the consumer. They can then proceed with purchasing the selected gift from the partner merchant using the accumulated gift fund. If the partnering merchant offers a birthday discount, Pay By Card will activate the Birthday Cashback feature. In 14 days after the purchase and gift collection, the user will receive the cashback amount (based on the merchant's birthday discount policy) directly credited to their credit card. If the requested amount is not fully collected or the user decides not to proceed with the gift purchase, they have the option to cancel the gift collection or transfer the accumulated money to their personal account after completing the identification procedure.
